Cave 1 (Sudama Cave) Inscription

लाजिना प्रियदसिना दुवाडवसाभि (सितेना)
इयं निगोहकुभा दिना आ (जी) विकोहि |

King Priyadarshin in the twelfth year after his coronation
Has donated this Banyan tree cave to Ajivakas.

This Banyan-tree cave was granted to the Ajivikas by the King’s Grace (Piyadasana)when he had been consecrated twelve years.

1. King Priyadarshin,
2. in the twelfth year after his coronation,
3. Cave of Khalatika-mountain,
4. has been donated to Ajivakas.

1. King Priyadarshin in the nineteenth year
2. of his coronation in the midst of cheers
3. came here, and gave this cave
4. as donation to Suppiya, of Khalatika-mountain

The King’s Grace (Raja Piyadasi), when he had been consecrated nineteen years, granted the (?) Supiya Cave in the (?) Khalatika Hill for as long as sun and moon endure.
